Family Visiting for the Weekend

So I don’t think there will be much time for crafting in the next week or so.  We have a pretty full schedule with Puffing Billy  on the menu for our grandson.  Who would have thought that riding on a train, (an old steam train mind you) would be more exciting than the aeroplane that will bring him here.

While I still have some crafting time up my sleeve I have been putting together a mini album that I found on a lovely website called Embrace Serendipity.  There is a very good simple tutorial to follow if you want to make one of these for yourself.

I have done everything wrong on this album, but it still turned out really nicely.  I started by choosing much too wide a ribbon, but I tied it in a different way for decoration instead of to tie the album.

I used some black chalkboard cardstock for my covers, it had been in my craft cupboard for a while and I hadn’t found a use for it. It stands up really well as covers for mini albums when you don’t want a thicker bookboard.  Smaller albums can be overwhelmed by a thick cover.

But the real star of my little mini album is the gorgeous ‘A Little Foxy’ 6″ x 6″ designer series paper stack that I have used for the pages and cover. Available in my online shop.  There is also a matching stamp set which is on my wishlist at the moment.

I hope you like my mini album, I will add a few more elements and dress up the cover a bit more. Photo’s to come.

  1. It looks really lovely, the wide ribbon has instant impact-it was the first thing I noticed and I thought it was very effective. Have fun with your grandson. 😊
