My dad turns 95 this year

Isn’t that amazing?  The past year has been a turbulent one for my dad, hospital for both himself and his wife. But today he is home and with spring and summer on the way in UK, life is good.

Being a card maker I wanted to make something special for his birthday.  I found a beautiful card on sabradcreations.blogspot.ca that I thought would fit the bill.  Here is my version of her tone on tone card.  This card is quite large at 91/2″ x 41/2″.

One of the things I like most about making cards and doing papercrafting is the people you meet along the way.  Everyone is so generous with sharing their ideas. Sabrina also made a wallet style envelope for her card and although I didn’t follow her pattern I did follow her idea.

This picture shows the inside of the card sitting inside the black cardstock wallet that I made to send it in.dad's 95 card in wallet.JPG

I hope my dad likes his card.  I loved making it for him.

Thanks for stopping by.

  1. Thanks Paardje, it blows my mind a little bit to even think about my dad being 95. The envelope was a really nice addition to make the card special I thought. I may add a few more touches before posting it off. Sometimes I don’t know when to stop!
