I’ve been making cards all weekend for various reasons but this one is special. This one is for my dad and his wife who have had a truly horrid year due to ill health which has meant they have had to spend many months apart as my dad needs home care if Brenda is not there to take care of him.
I used one of my favourite products from the current Stampin’ UP! Occasions catalogue to make this card. I loved using the “Bloomin Hearts” Thinlits Die in this unusual way allowing the “Tangerine Tango” cardstock to show through leaving a lovely lacy affect. I white embossed the little butterfly from “Grateful Bunch” Stamp Set. I embossed one of the butterflies in Tangerine Tango Embossing powder (now retired) and although the punch wasn’t an exact fit I punched it out with my small butterfly punch adding it with a glue dot. I mounted this to a Blackberry Bliss Card Base and decorated the inside in whisper white.
I decorated one of Stampin’ UP!s beautiful white envelopes with the small heart from the matching stamp set “Bloomin’ love” using the *stamping off technique in tangerine tango ink.
*Stamping off technique – Sometimes the full colour is more than you want on a project. Stamping off simply means that once the stamp is inked you stamp it onto a piece of scrap paper once or sometimes twice depending on the depth of colour you require, before stamping it on your project. As you can see here the tangerine tango although it has been stamped off once is still very vibrant.
Thank you for visiting.
